About Us

Shenandoah Valley Truck Stop Ministry is a Christian non-profit ministry having started in May, 2011 with one idea, one Christian bookmark and the help and encouragement of one local trucker, Bob “Shaky” Schell; 40 year long haul trucker with Cecil H. Holler, Poultry Farm, LLC in Woodstock, Virginia. Trucker Schell was the first to carry the messsage of God's love and savlation through the ministry out of the Valley.

The ministry began and continues with the goal of spreading the Word of God and the message of salvation available to all; TO AND THROUGH TRUCKERS. Having started simply with bookmarks, we than began making up booklets “geared to truckers” with Bible verses to encourage, teach, and share the good news of the gospel:

(John 3:16 KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

*Chaplain Mark Garrett was the first to "partner" with the SVTSM in it's early states and since has become our advisary chaplain. Chaplain Garrett is a 14 year trucker himself and a part time chaplain at the Transport for Christ Restorer Chapel in Shrewsbury Massachusetts. He brings the knowledge of the truckers life interwined with the spiritual struggles they go through each day to the ministry.

The free Christian booklets and materials that we provide are written by the ministry; contain Bible verses useful in all occasions for truckers and others, and are uniquely put together so the truckers can, in particular, relate to circumstances that they face each day with a message from the Bible as well.

Books are for the trucker who is not saved, "Trucker are you lost?" the trucker that is not sure about salvation; "Are you going to Heaven" and the newly saved trucker."Your big rig is God's new home." For the Christian trucker, a unique way to do a bible study using the time on their watch.

The Christian Truckers Road book completed for our 1 year “birthday” has verses and thoughts of the truckers time on the road, and features pictures of local truckers and trucking companies.

There are several general books of interest, such as "In difficult times is God really there?"

"trucker tidbits,"  "Truckers Draw nigh to God"  "Is Jesus knocking at your door" and many others.
